        Site Rotating Equipment Engineer - Apr 1998 to Present
* Lead and provide consultancy for purchase & installation of all mechanical aspects of rotating equipment - i.e. advise, review & approve Capital PO’s for the Barry site.
* Review technical performance of existing, and evaluate and implement new, plant/equipment technologies to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
* Support, modify & develop mechanical standards (EMTN’s) and workflows/procedures relating to the procurement, design & installation of rotating equipment.
* Implementation of site wide rotating equipment vibration (and other 'condition based') monitoring programme.
* Develop and maintain rotating equipment engineering information library and management systems via SAP & Documentum.
* Sitewide implementation of mechanical aspects of AtEx Directives.
* Support DC global Technology Teams & represent DC on EEMUA Machinery committee.

        Area Facilities Engineer - Nov 1993 to Mar 1998
* Controlled and engineered, from concept to installation, all appropriate mechanically biased plant improvement modifications (PCR’s) to optimise plant/equipment reliability, availability, efficiency, safety and environmental impact on several plants of the Barry Basics Unit.
* Provided technical and spares support to mechanical maintenance group.
* Provided maintenance and engineering input to Capital Projects
* Displayed creativity for plant/equipment improvements, making best use of current mechanical technology.

Elf Oil (UK) Limited, Oil Refinery

        Utilities Engineer - Jan 1992 to Oct 1993
Appointed to Operations Department to monitor and enhance the performance of Utilities Equipment, liaising with the Shift Operations Team.  Responsibilities cover equipment such as Fired and Waste Heat Steam Raising Boilers, Associated Water Treatment Plant and Gas Turbine Based CHP Unit, Air Compressors and Cooling Water Systems.
* Managed Chemical Treatment of Cooling and Boiler Feedwater to optimise results within budgetary constraints.
* Produced a comprehensive Monthly Energy Report enabling energy costs to be closely monitored and controlled by Senior Management.
* Familiar with Continuous Process Plant Control Systems and experienced in related data acquisition and presentation.

        Inspection Engineer - Jan 1991 to Dec 1991
Performed various Plant Inspection duties such as external thermal surveying of on-line equipment to assess internal condition in addition to conventional visual internal and external inspection.
Managed and engineered inspection related projects up to £70K to improve equipment life and performance.

        Rotating Equipment Engineer - May 1988 to Dec 1990
Managed and developed the Refinery Predictive Maintenance Programme covering over 400 pumps & compressors (centrifugal & axial), using oil condition monitoring and a PC based machinery vibration analysis system, enabling a reduction in unscheduled machinery downtime to be achieved.
Engineered cost effective solutions to problems encountered on equipment to improve life and performance to maximize on-line time.

Short term post installing foundry equipment including induction furnaces and shot blast machinery.

APV Paramount
        Plant Engineer - Aug 1986 to Mar 1988
Responsible for the maintenance of all buildings and plant within an investment foundry.  Covering moulding, casting and finishing equipment.
Managed a team of three mechanical fitters and liaised with Production Department to achieve maximum equipment availability and performance.  Experienced in trouble shooting on hydraulics and pneumatic control and power systems.
