WMS 'E-Mail Discussion Group'

  Introduction

  An e-mail discussion group now exists for exclusive use of Welsh Mines Society 'Members' and 'Newsletter Subscribers'. It has been set up, first and foremost, to allow members to be easily contacted on by the officers of the WMS, and allow contact & discussion between members easily and quickly on society issues.  It can also be used to query other members on details & research issues relating to Welsh mines & quarries etc.
  (Note : It is intended to supplement, not compete with, existing discussion groups such as the UK based Mining History Network discussion group as moderated by Peter Claughton, and that set up by Thomas Imgrund, Mining and Steel Industry in Europe which focuses on mainland European mines and steel making.)

  What's it about ?

  If you're new to e-mail discussion groups, they go something like this;

  Once you're subscribed, you will receive copies of all e-mails posted to the group (unless you elect otherwise) - if you reply to a message or send in one of your own, then likewise, all members of the group will receive a copy.

 The group will be 'moderated', by the WMS webmaster to ensure that communications are of a suitable quality and we don't end up with meaningless junk in our in-boxes.  Also, as the membership will be restricted to WMS members, you will not receive any commercial 'spam' through the group.
  There are also 'files' and 'photos' sections where info can be placed and accessed by any members, plus there is the facility to run on-line polls.
